Architect’s design philosophy and materials used
Designed to accommodate twin sisters living together, the house features two wings that converge around a shared living space encompassing the kitchen, dining, and entertainment areas. These spaces, resembling sculptural objects, seamlessly blend into the landscape.
Gabion walls filled with local slate greet visitors at the entrance, while raw concrete andoxidized Carten steel reflect the passage of time and the interplay with the elements. IBR cladding pays homage to traditional agricultural structures. Integrating pathways, courtyards, and planted nooks, Amani establishes a symbiotic relationship with the environment. A captivating fishpond extends beneath the entrance floor, enhancing the natural appeal.
Sustainability extends beyond materials, as art becomes an integral part of the architecture, justifying the grandeur of the building and ensuring its lasting presence.
Amani stands as a testament to the profound connection between art, architecture, and nature. With its tranquil ambiance and commitment to sustainability, it seamlessly blends into its surroundings, showcasing the beauty of cultural collaboration and honouring the natural landscape.
